Good enough. MS also has a ClearType tuner you can download (free) to optimize how the fonts look for your eyes. Works very well. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx
Anyone know what version of the Catalyst drivers this is based on? - Ed
For the x1600 that has not been my experience using the proprietary ATI drivers. But then I haven't tried in about a month.
Right-click on an empty part of your desktop to bring up the display properties. Select Appearance, then Effects. Check the box that talks about smoothing edges of fonts, then select ClearType. - Ed

Me too, with no 8104 to mix things up. Logitech V240 mouse. It's really intermittent and for no apparent reason. By the way, the latest BT drivers on the Acer Europe site seem to reduce the frequency of the problem. - Ed
And I happen to like my 8204, which has no substantial issues, and is a real zinger. If boot camp had been available when I purchased it, it would have been a tougher decision relative to the MBP. But that was then, this is now. And...
