I play FEAR on high settings with AA and AF on, with a 1.66 core duo, only 1gb of ram and a quadro FX 1500 (wich is basically a 7900GS). I'll check again later my exact settings to see if it can help you out
Yeah that's really the important question here: What do you do with your notebook? If you don't game or you don't need the mobility, I'd go for the option #3

Probably the Dell E1505, as you can get it well equipped for less than $1000
