Doesn't the Dell also have a Studio XPS 16 that has i7 offered as well? I think that version has a ATI 4670 as an video option as well - which would be a step up. Is laptop size a major concern for you? Not sure what the form factors...

Sorry man, they are currently setup in RAID 0 for a boot drive. So I can't test just one. I've had them for about 2 months or so maybe and they seem to be about as fast as when I got them, from just eyeballing the boot / startup time.

Oh, I hope Asus enables RAID functionality in the bios in this new one. It is the one negative in my G51J that I commented to Asus customer support about.
