if your comfortable opening up the laptop i would replace the thermal paste on both GPUs and the CPU, Clean out the fans and see how it goes. not sure about the HDMI issue, since you seem to indicate the both cards are still working...
You can get all the drivers on dells site, There should also be a second disk which has the drivers (old ones) as well did you delete the recovery partiton as well ?

CCFL is the lights used on the screen usually 2 of them on the sides of the screen. They are controlled and powered by the inverter.
