I don't think you will get much of a solution as long as you use logitech's software. The logitech tech told me their setpoint drivers and synaptics' drivers do not coexist well. Thats it in a nutshell. Now it's up to you to use one...
I resolved all my issues by returning the mouse and getting the LX7 logitech mouse. It works without any problems. I didn't even install the logitech software.
