I wouldnt say they're a waste of space. They do, after all, offer better performance over alot of laptops. I would reccomend a desktop to almost anyone who doesnt need the size or portability of a laptop.

no, that is an IR blaster. You can stick it on your cable box so you change change its chanels from your computer
