I would venture to say that there is no software you can install that will void your hardware warranty. Push come to shove, you could always reformat the hard drive before they service it and they would never know.
Oh, that could easily be. I have the 7800Go which makes a HUGE difference in how much power the laptop requires.
Let it go a while and then feel the power adapter. It will get super hot and can eventually turn off from thermal conditions. If you're only using it to charge the laptop when off, that should be okay.

I never could. Even the 1.3v mod only allowed me to go to 930 with the memory, but it did allow me to go higher with the core (which is where the big gains are made, anyway).
E1705 reports of >4 hours with the Intel GMA video are not uncommon. I get about 2.5 with the 7800Go overclocked.
