so it connects through usb? phone line to modem usb to comp? you might call aol and see (i am sure you will prob have to authorize the modem..that is what i had to do for comcast to let me use the dlink modem). ask to use the verizon...

ok... what you might want to do (what i usually do) is try to get the laptop online wired. use an ethernet cable to make sure your router is configured right. what isp do you use? more than likely you will set up your connection...
