Sorry about that... I was refering to the Hitachi 7k400 . I think it is just a bad drive out of the box... I placed it in both the 1712 and a new Dell server and neither system could read the drive in the bios. Connecting power...
I have been trying to get this drive to work with the 1710 and it is not recognised in the Bios. I have the Latest Bios. Which Jumper setting does it like (I believe I have tried them all) The Drive just shows up Blank or un recognised....
I'll trade you a green pixel for a blue one... Looks like they are in the same location.....

Has anyone tried poping in a Serial ATA drive ? There should be pleanty of room the the conversion cables. Are these runnng any cooler at high disk size then standard ATA drives ? Scott
