Well, I'm starting to believe this Matshita dvd writer is actually a piece of junk! I burned my first data dvd today and, although the dvd is 8x certified, it would only burn at 2x!! I don't understand why there's still no firmware...
I did after a few days because I wanted to delete the hidden partition and it didn't work for some reason. Then Win XP wouldn't load so I was like "I might as well reformat now!".
I have one from Belkin, which took 2 freaking months for me to get (they sent the wrong color!). I love it, it kinda looks like a DJ bag! http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProdu...duct_Id=254676
Well, mine lasted for like 3 hours a month ago. But I had to bring it to work for a week a couple of weeks ago and had it plugged in all day long. Now I get 2h30min -2h40min. That's odd...

So who actually went ahead and flashed the bios?? I guess it's like standard flashing procedure, right? Any noticeable improvements?
I did burn the back up dvd when I got the machine. However, no trace of Acer Arcade anywhere...

I think it's the Acer launch manager that does that. And it has to be running in order to have the on-screen display. If you uninstalled it, it's available on Acer's website, in the drivers section.
