Interesting, as I've read that X1600 in the MSI 1039 is stock 450/450, whereas the S96j mem wont even get that high overclocked (in this particular notebook).

The easiest is to purchase the ram elsewhere, like at Newegg.com, and install it yourself. Either keep or sell the minimum ram that you get from dell.

my 600mhz iBook with 384 ram lags pretty bad in powerpoint. Other than that, itunes, firefox and word all run well simultaneously.
