Chuck232, I thought Intel's Core Duo processor was 64-bit compatible, is it not?
If not, then am I right to say that current crop of notebooks that use Intel's Core
Duo processors will not be able to run Windows Vista later on?

It depends heavily on what applications you're running and under what conditions. In heavy multitasking, the Core Duo will definitely perform better despite the clock speed...
