Just got my new HD and installed it... this thing rocks. I am now up and running in windows in 30 seconds!! ( even after all updates, avg and some programs) It's a new life for my notebook

It's dutch But translated it means something like
'The device, \Device\Harddisk0\D, has a bad block'
I think this is where my problem is... typ it in in google and you'll find tons of posts of people...
Even with a clean windows xp pro install it still takes that much time... I also checked every setting in my BIOS. I'm pretty sure it's hardware related
I use my notebook just for schoolwork, internet, movies and some games (that don't require much). It allready has 1024DDR and I keep it clean but it still takes up to 10 !!! minutes to boot. I tried formatting but didn't help a thing....

Ata-5 is downward compatible... So any drive I buy will work at its full capacity/speed ? Even if it's an ata-6 drive or whatever ?
Because, as I said before, my laptop has an ata-5 interface and my travelstar is an ata-6 drive....
