32% at 1GHz is not ok. Running at 1GHz it uses about 2-5% here.

The acer software is cr*p. When running task manager, which program uses most cpu power. I'll bet it's some acer software.

When you open task manager, how many percent cpu usage do you have? Just as a reference, when only browsing, mine is between 0-2.

Same here on my 8204. It has happened on all my laptops that had a painted coating. :-(

Before you judge it to fast try a 3dmark06 test. I think you will see some improvements there

I played a lot of Oblivion, and didn't notice the noise. Actually I was quite impressed with the graphics. I do have some noice in wmp when using hq overlays. Also some colours show the noise, but I must admit that I don't notice it in...

It's really strange. I just wanted to test OC with the original Acer 8.2 drivers, so I completely removed the Omega driver and installed the 8.2 driver, but I don't have the lag?!? Hmm...
