@flipcody, Earlier in this thread (April 2006), I didn't notice that OS reinstallation resolved only "HQ Overlay Mode" noise problem, related to Omega 6.3 drivers... Since then, we know that the noise is still there but it's...

It's a different shade, so it doesn't say anything - check the Nokia Monitor Test (brightness&contrast), then we'll know for sure...

I reported this problem to ATI about 2 months ago... No answer so far...

To be honest, I haven't read any negative review before I bought it... All the reviewers were praising 8204 and I was even more angry when I finally bought it and I could find so many issues out of the box... I'm still getting negative...

Ok, it makes sense... But now the same question again: Why not all the notebooks with the same configuration are affected???

So how do you explain the same problem under Linux, lack of noise on external LCD, people with the same build date/drivers/bios/screen type who randomly have/don't have it?

But you should remember, that average user is an idiot (at least in States)... Just kidding... You came to the same point as we did couple of weeks ago - even the test with external monitor was done before... Why don't you read the other...
