I would figure that the 7800GTX and 6800 would probably use around the same wattage during 2D operation and only kick up during 3D. 2D wattage should be minimal.

The CPU is not usually the bottleneck since the issue is usually having to open and handle a large number of small files. Thus disk i/o becomes the bottleneck.
