you can try something like ethereal and see what ports all your packets are going through, it might give you a better idea of what ports to open.

I use a 300gb maxtor inside a Sanmax external enclosure. All you need is a plug for the enclosure and plugs are not hard to find.

I use a mx900 with the internal bluetooth on my 5690. Iplay ut2k4, I have no issues whatsoever. I love the heavier mice, it's sooo much easier to line up fine shots with them.
