If it's similar to the TM_4150, you have to remove the keyboard first. Then it's under that in a recessed hatch.

Hire a lawyer & take it to small claims court. In the U.S., I think anything under $1500 is considered small-claims, and it might be more now.

Try booting off a LiveCD or an XP install disk before you go replacing hardware.
