I'm with you--I'd like to know what exactly the problem is.

All of my USB ports look OK. my problem is exactly the same as yours zzpulp (it only booted with the other battery once...) except holding down the power button doesn't work for me.

I removed the drive and it did the same thing. It could be the battery going-- I switched out batteries and a fully charged one doesn't have the same problem. (the other one was about half charged from me using it earlier)

this may be a stupid question, but how will that help? I mean, I'd like to be able to boot with the hard drive in, obviously.

Battery runs for as long as it should (few hours). What drives are you suggesting I remove?

Hey, for some reason using the LED plugins in either winamp or windows media player causes a lot of distortion in the music. The distortion only occurs when the LEDs change color, so I am thinking it's some sort of software thing but...
