It shouldn't be the hard drive. I have the 7200rpm hard drive which theoretically should be the most prone to such a noise and even at the loudest acoustic settings, it still barely makes any noise.
It really shouldn't and if you do overload the bus power limit, it *should* automatically shut off that port and a little box will pop up from the windows taskbar.
Do they work properly? the i9kfangui website says that it doesn't properly support core duo yet.
o.O define "loud"... since mine is barely noticable and only really noticable when it kicks into the highest setting which is almost never (like twice so far in a month).
Most of them are powered by a usb connection so you dont have to have another powersupply thingie.
Well, I know theres a lot that monitor the temperatures, but I haven't seen anything really for actually setting the threasholds. I was under the impression that i8kfangui was for only monitoring.
