If your laptop gets hot enough to heat the lcd to damage it, then you have something seriously wrong with your laptop. It shouldnt. The air is normally shot out through a side, the rear or even the bottom. The heat gets vented away.

My little sister just purchased a MX6960, its a good machine overall and it runs a lot cooler than my MX6450, which has the same case as that MX6453.
