I didn't think the crack was a big deal. In fact, I called in weeks ago to emachines and was told it was cosmetic. I told them I could live with it cause everthing else is great and I needed it for my work. Today?... stress failure...

umm, the information I found shows only a slight performance gain between the 4200 and 5400 RPM drive. Not enough to worry about in most cases. Go look at the test data I dug up in the 4200 vs. 5400 RPM poll forum. Bottom line......
