I have a similar situation here and I bought IBM T41 (no p since I'm no gamer). It's light and strong-built. The monitor cripsy (well, other than Sony and toshiba's newest monitor) So far it has been solid. No dead pixel and no HD...
The UltraSlim is way overpriced. If you don't need the drive attach to the notebook all the time, my recommentation is that you can buy a big and fast HD (notebook or desktop) and get a USB2.0 or FW enclosure to go with it.

Thanks J, I'm glad to hear that. But I thought hard drive the really sensitive? I remember when I put together my server, I tried to add those HD fans and ppl told me that electromagnetic field is strong enough to damage the HD......

Thanks pennster, for your reply. U made a good point here. I probably forgot the load for VS.NET + MSDE + all the crap suck up the memory. The T41 can have up to 2G, not that I need that much. But 768 is somewhat I'm looking for. Too...
