well im an XP user and it seems I have (temporarily) fixed the issue by installing the older sigmatel driver for my m1710. Driver version 5.10.0.4823

welll its two years later and i still havnt solved the problem. tried playing with my LEDs and quicket and itunes with that annoying thing where it turns the leds back on. ive reinstalled my sound driver and got rid of the audigy thing...

what sort of problems do you need for dell to decide to replace you m1710?
