What settings are you trying to run at?
CS:S will run fine @ 1024x and medium details.
Just dont expect 100+ fps, remember you are running basically a 9600pro.
Try the 8.04 on the Sager websire, or the catalyst 4.10 w/ Mobile Modder.
Or you could try the latest Omegas, however there should be a new set released before long that are based on the 4.10's
3dmark03 really doesnt do anything to test your cpu. The difference between a 2800+ and a 3700+ with the same gpu is around 200pts.
Try Sandra or 3dmark01.
But anyway, going from a 3400+ to a 3700+ will probably only net you a...
From the benchmarks posted i am going to guess 12 pipes. I bet its basically a downclocked 6800nu. Either that or a really high clocked 8 pipe card.
Err, now im thinking it could be based on the 6600 pci-e card? Those things score...
Im going to pick up a set of Senn PX-100's, they seem about the best bet for a mobile design. I want something easily portable that i can throw in my bag, and i really dont want anything that i have to jam in my ears....
