erm, where did you find the updated 50+ mb file? The generic software + driver is 129mb from intel.com.

You might need to reinstall your Windows XP. Then install the ACPI thingy and Intel's INF update. Not sure though.
Same problem. Sound comes and goes. And when it comes back it's full of static sounds at times. Found any solutions?
