I bought a refurbished A65-S1762 4 months ago for 950.00 from Tiger Direct. I have added 512mb ram and the 60gb 7200rpm hd. It does get a little "toasty" after awhile but for the money, pretty hard to beat!
They make USB connecting cords with 2 of the large USB plugs on one end. This way you draw power from 2 USB ports on your laptop to the connected device. If you are already using one of these, external power is the only other option.
