I think you have to change the whole panel. I've seen few selling on Ebay, but I personally don't think it's worth it since the new color wouldn't be covered by Dell. Just saw white one for 40 bucks on Ebay.

Escalate the issue, and ask for a replacement system.
It seems like it's a symptom of your GPU dying. The memory error is coming from GPU's memory I think. Warranty call may help if you still have it. GL.
Save up and get the 8800. It's night and day diff.
