Just go for M1730 refurb. There used to be alot of em for around 1400 bucks while back. Haven't checked lately though.

What's the idle temp on it? My cpu's idle @ high 50's (C) in hot summer apartment. Haven't gaming lately, so I'm not sure how high it will go during games though. If it keeps up, I would just call Dell, and ask for repairs.

OC'ing or no? It plays fine on non extreme cpu..

I have 3 systems running on Vista Ultimate 32bit versions. I wouldn't say they run perfect, but I don't have problem like OP does.
