It appears that the program that you are using is allocating some of your system memory to work along with the 16mb video card (16+56=72).

You might be able to extend the warranty, but generally almost all Thinkpads come with atleast 1 year warranty.

The warranty on Thinkpads follow the system, not the buyer. I would check here to see if it is under warranty with IBM/Lenovo. If they say that it is under warranty, then you will be perfectly fine...as long as it wasn't a stolen...
