Temps were around 5-7C cooler than with the stock cooling pad that was on the rig if I recall correctly.
AS5 has been on a computer I built that is ran every day for the past 5 years that my parents have. Clean out the fans and heatsink of dust and temperatures have yet to go up.
Just buy a Pacific Breeze laptop cooler. Elevates the laptop, brings fresh air to underneath components and prevents excessive heat being transferred to the table top. It's cheap too, and works.
Just run the GPU fan on high all of the time. It's what I do. Mild OC, 46C idle, 64C load. With an OC bumped up to 1.24v, I was going 49C idle, 81C load.
Why buy a 7900 GS from the parts bin for the extra pipe on the heatsink? Have to be able to source out just the heat sinks that go on the cards somehow one would think?
So, if I buy a vehicle, and I have constant problems with it after purchasing it -- they are not liable to fix the problem? It's the same thing really.

You're going to complain til they make things right. That's sure as hell what I would do.
Maybe it was just a unit that was cancelled after it was produced? Ya might as well just send an email and ask if it's a refurb or not. Worst case scenario, it craters and you get a new one.
