No... out of the half dozen laptop/notebooks i've owned... i've never known any in which the cpu wasn't removable, maybe some antiquated suitcase sized one, who knows... as for newer notebooks the cpu is most definetly a removable chip...

I may be a minority here... but I actually like the looks of the XPS and 9100. After all, they're meant to be desktop replacements. And to me, they look good sitting on a desk! The bottom line is... if you want thin, smooth...
