That light leakage is VERY minimal. It's really not worth replacing at all since it doesnt intefere with usage. I would keep that and enjoy the laptop.
I would swap them and not worry about. If you can have a better screen it's the best thing to do. I know someone who did switch their screens just as you mentioned and there was never any question or problem.
People said the 17inch was too big before that came out too I dont see anything wrong with a 19 inch notebook. I cant wait to buy one.
I have an i9200, after 6 months the CPU runs anywhere from 29-38c depending on how warm it is inside my house. Right now, CPU is idling at 35c, GPU 32c, DIMM 35c, hardrive at 36c. When it was newer, it never ran warmer than 30c....
Do the XPS2 LEDS in the palmrest work when you put that onto a 9300? I didnt see them turned on in your picture so are they non-functioning?
I have the Linksys WRT54G and it works great. I tried the DLink Di624 and it didnt work right. No signal 1 foot away from the router.
Where are the two screws that they forget to mention? Do you just see them easily or they are they hidden? I am considering ordering a new palmrest for my 9200. Mine has developed dark spots on it after only 6 months.
I was just looking in the 9200 service manual today and it shows how to replace those speakers, it's very easy. Just gotta pull off the hinge cover, keyboard, and palm rest to get to them.
I've heard the Gateway tends to run very warm, keep an eye on that. The Dell certainly wont have that problem.
