The m9700 has an optical port on its right side, next to the USB port. What is that? FiOS? Infrared?

Also it looks like the Alienware RAM is only DDR, versus DDR2 for the Dell M1710.

I am considering buying a new notebook after owning a Dell for about 3 years, and will probably go with an Alienware notebook. I am very, very impressed with the value in the m9700. I can't believe the base price is only $2000...
