When I purchased my Asus X83V laptop it said it supports Memory Stick, but I can not find where to insert the Memory Stick. The slot on the left side of the computer is too big and only takes SD cards. What am I missing?

It says next to the card reader on my laptop it supports Memory Stick, but it's smaller than a SD card so I it can't be put in there. Is there some kind of adapter needed? The black plastic touchpad on my new HP dv1659us shows signs of wear after two weeks of use! It's like I am rubbing my way through the plastic, it's gotten shiny and looks like I have used it for at least a year. I know this happens on all laptops after a while, but here it is after two weeks. How is it going to be after a year? Would I have rubbed my way down to the mb?
Any ideas if it is easy to replace the pad? This bothers me a little.
I recently purchased my first HP laptop, a dv1659us. Great machine. Since I also use it for work I always have my laptop disks encrypted using Securstar DCPP software. It has never been a problem until now on this laptop where some kind of recovery mechanism on the restores the MBR after DCPP has loaded the encrypted one.
