If I change the second partition (D) to NTFS would I be able to use the restore partition or I would have to use the recovery DVD?
Does the restore procedure converts the second partition to FAT32 or only the first (C) ?

I'm seriously considering buying this lappy!
Yes I bought it, but the lack of time don't give me the chance to to write a review
ACER 5673 specs :
Core Duo T2400 1,83GHz
2GB DDR2 533
120GB 5400rpm SATA
ATI X1600 128MB (512 HM)
Actually it's a 5672 with a X1600...
I did a research in ACER sites in Europe and I discoverd that ACER has the 5672 with ATI X1600 256 MB dedicated but with a 1,66 CPU. In Sweden and Norway there are these models :
Windows® XP Home Edition Intel Centrino Duo T2300 1.66GHz processor, 15.4" WXGA CrystalBrite 16ms, 120GB 5400rpm, 1024MB (2*512) DDRII, DVD Super Multi (slot), ATI X1600, 128MB/256 Hypermemory, WLan a/b/g, Bluetooth, 1.3MP kamera, VoIP Bluetooth telefon
Windows® XP Home Edition , Intel...
I was about to buy ASUS A6ja (1,66 - 1024MB - 100GB - X1600 256MB dedicated) when I discovered the ACER 5672 (5673 in Greece) with 1,83 - 2048MB - 120GB - X1600 128MB. The price is about the same but there is a trade-off between CPU and GPU power. I have to take a decision next week and I 'm completely complicated. If only ACER had give us X1600 with 256MB dedicated.
The 3DMark05 score is very low for the X1600. Maybe because of the 128MB the card has, but I'm not sure. Τhe core speed is good but the memory is low. In Tomshardware the Asus A7J with 1,83GHz,1GB DDR2,X1600 256DDR3 446/396 gets 3701 in 3dmark05.
Is there a reference for locked clock speeds in other graphic cards?

Can you give us the full specs of your 5673 and have you run any benchmark like 3dMark ? Can you tell us the the core and memory speed of your X1600?
Unfortunally Acer has different specifications regarding 5670 series in each country. Today in Greece the 5673 was released which I think is the 5672 with the X1600.
120 SATA 5400rpm
ATI X1600 up to 512
15,4" TFT 1280x800
Price is starting from 1410 Euros in greek e-shops which I think is a very good price.
I'm not sure if the X1600 has 128 or 256 MB dedicated RAM. I think it's the 128MB version but I 'm going to call Acer ...
