I had a 50 foot s-video cable running from my old desktop to my 40 inch LCD. Quality wasn't great...but it was watchable. I'd say it was like old VHS tape quality.

Since 4GB does not show up in 32bit Vista, I was thinking of going with just 3GB. But that would be a 2GB dimm, and a 1GB dimm...therefore the dual channel wouldn't work, right? Is it a noticeable difference? Should I just go with 4GB?

Haha, I guess its not criminal of them...but why don't they offer 64-bit Vista, or at least note that a full 4GB won't show up. From what I have ready, it can be between 2.8gb - 3.8gb of memory that show up. Perhaps on a future update...

Check out the Dell Vostro on their small business site. They start really cheap ($400 or so) and from what I hear they are sturdy.
