I think it might be one of those computers where you have to push the power button to turn the screen on again. My Acer is like that.

Turn it off and look at the screen. If you see a reflection, it's Truelife. If it's kind of a matte dull finish, it isn't.

This was a problem on 9300's also. Idk what causes it.

Sorry for double post, wouldnt let me edit. I meant S-video is NOT the best for high definition.

S-video is really the best for high def television. It's maybe a little better than composite. What you'd probly want is to go with DVI, VGA, or component if your monitor handles it.
