From what I read, the first core2due notebooks (pc) are not running cool at all. Than again, I have no scientific proof, it's just based on the first experiences that reviewers have had with Dell, Alienware, etc...

I think you're best off waiting for the new MEROM processor editions of the Macbook (pro). These processors run a lot cooler and consume less energy. Rumor has it that these should be available within a month or two.
