I've had the problem before and dell replaced the mobo and it worked fine for a while after, so I'm almost 100% certain thats what it is, since the same thing is happening,
I've got an i5150 that died one week after the warranty expired, and by died I mean the ac adapter connection on the mobo is so loose that it can't take a charge. Does anybody have a part # or know where I can find one to replace it?
Same thing with my sisters i6000, its the WinXP installation files. And if it isn't, then she has no XP cd, and could never reinstall.
2405fpw to be more precise Hopefully will be here by this time next week. Got it for $1016 which isnt bad considering it costs ~$1200 normally Just thought I'd share that.

I use memorex as well because its all that works with both of my dvd burners.

Right before it shuts down, is there a blue screen or anything? My 5500's been crashing and it's giving blank bsods which usually means that something is overheating.
