I have run the Halo Demo on my 8790 and it ran great (at 1024x768) - looked good, no lag. I have the Xbox version as well - to be honest I like using the Xbox controller better than a keyboard/mouse combo (I have a Belkin Nostromo...
Are there any bridges that work with this router? I have an X-Box I would like to hook up wirelessly. I suppose any 802.11b one would do since speed is not an issue.
I would go with the VMWare option. I have a couple of Linux installations running in VMWare and it works great and it isolates you from driver issues so I am sure Win98 would work OK in there.
I would be interested how you like the Netgear router since I am looking for a wireless router now to go with my new 8790.
I am using the drivers that were pre-installed on my machine when I got it and I have no problem with Fry Cry, Battlefield Vietnam, Battlefield 1942, or Call of Duty.
mrich - you are definitely my hero - I did the wire switch you suggested and on restart I found five wireless networks that I had never seen before. I am connected now to one of them (I don't know whos).
I ordered my 8790 with Bluetooth and I am using a MX900 without the cradle. Works fine. I am not sure what the connection to the wireless network card is.
OK I went out and got Fuji a DVD -RW and it worked fine. The Fuji DVD +RW is the one that didn't work.
Those Ritek discs are DVD-R, which I already have and work for me. What I am trying to find are DVD RW discs - for backups. So I am not sure if I am having some issue with +RW or -RW or some such thing.
I do move some big files around. I would like to be able to go to an all wireless home network - just so I don't have to string wires everywhere - so the Turbo would be cool if it works well.
