After buying and installing the Sound Blaster Audigy Advanced MB, the cracking went away on BF2. Theres no cracking in Oblivion either, although there never was in Oblivion.

Ya, Keep us informed. I have the same problem with my 1 week old maxxed M1710 and BF2. Damn crackling driving me nuts.
