I believe that the Hitachi software just does not work with a RAID enabled 8790. Tried it a couple of times (had a bad drive and then the replaced drive became bad). If Raid is enabled, the software simply won't see the drive...
1. Review other threads regarding Artifacting and the 8790 - The ones below yours. 2. Might consider cheaning out the unit. 3. Might consider setting the Video Card setting a bit lower using ATITOOL.
