Okay I just tried it on my old celeron 2.9ghz, 6600gt 1gb ram, and it runs perfect at 800x600, so why can't a game thats suppsoedly "optimized for dual cores" run on a higher spec laptop?

Hey all, Just picked up splinter cell double agent today, after installing it, tried to run it, and it ran slow! I mean like less than 10 FPS at 1024x768... I don't know what on earth is going on with this game, but my computer can't be...

Right now I can run it at 1280x720 all settings maxed out, and it looks ok, not quite as good as 1680, but it will do... I'm just debating over whether to buy a 1gb stick of ram, or buy a 200gb ext hard drive for storage that is on sale...

Reformat is the easiest way to do it. Look in the FAQ section I believe, there is a whole article on how to do it...

Anyone??? Can anyone tell me if a ram upgrade would speed up games at all either, because of the memeory being eaten up by the vid card... A couple of the games I play are just on the brink of not being able to play at 1680x1050,...
