Its a setting in the nvidia control panel, it must have been disabled. Just go back in there and look under tools thats where you'll find it.

the laptop itself is 15lbs, the whole box with everything inside when i picked mine up weighed 40lbs.

I hope there's some way to monitor it, I'm getting blue screen crashes every now and then that i think might be the card overheating. Cant test it though grrr

Nope NVtemplogger wont work on the mALX I guess the cards dont have temp monitoring, that really sucks!

I believe that if SLI rendering is off your only using one of the video cards in the machine.
