I think I have cured the problem. I took the bottom fan cover off and inspeacted the area beneath. The three fans looked lovely and clean, but there was fluff stuck in the long copper colored pieces, which I now know are the cooling...
Hedgehoag, did you resolve this? i just posted a similar problem this afternoon. my laptop "faints".
Oh, one more thing, frequently when plugged in to the AC the surface around the keyboard (wrist rest area) is so hot I can barely touch it.
That's a real pain in the neck. The main reason I had to leave it on 24/7 is because is power switch problem. I called Toshiba at the time and they told me the problem was in the house...
My P25-S509 used to trip the fuses in the house when the power switch was used. It's been doing that for about 2 yrs (since new), but since my new problem started I can happily press the power switch with no fuse tripping, so maybe...

Further to my last post. A soft reboot does *not* trip the fuses, but a soft shut down does. As soon as the laptop finished it's power down cycle (as the last visible signs of power leave the laptop) it trips the fuses... even if the...
Hi guys, I can run my S509 all day connected to the AC without a problem. However, if I press the power off button, or the power on button, while the laptop is connected to the AC it trips the power breaker in the computer...
