I wouldn't call it a terrible experience. You did get the offer of a free printer or warranty upgrade. That ain't shabby at the end of the day. A lot people don't even get a cent off.

The 8600 does not have a trimetal body. Its a plastic. or is it? I can't believe no one mentionened the most important differance. The 8600 has a blue border around the keyboard, the d800 has a silver border.
