Dell is replacing all bad 7900GTX cards with 7950GTX cards. I guess they ran out.

Because they can? Are the ones on eBay guaranteed to work? Are the ones on eBay warranteed with the rest of the computer? If the ones on eBay damage your computer, and you tell Dell what happened, would Dell cover the damage caused...

I am running the nVidia 158.36 modded drivers from Laptop Video 2 Go and they are running great. Just ran a 5639 on 3DMark 2006 and 9818 on 3DMark 2005 without disabling anything at all (70 processes running).

That is exactly what my 7900 GTX did when it died. A checkerboard or little patches of lines all over the screen, even in the BIOS.

You DEFINITELY would not want to play a console game on a portable computer through a TV Tuner card. It does not work well, if at all.

Enjoy the computer...and turn the CPU speed down to 2.8Ghz or less. Benchmarks have shown that the system runs much hotter while overclocked and may even clock down and run slower than if you just overclock it a little.

I really don't think that putting Arctic Silver on your GPU would void the warranty on your GPU. I would contact them again and troubleshoot with them and have them replace that graphics card.

Unfortunately, I can no longer run I8KFanGUI, since installing x64 Vista Ultimate. x64 Vista requires all drivers to be signed, and the driver in I8KFanGUI is not signed. If anyone knows how to force x64 Vista to allow you to install...
