Well, seeing as we're talking about XP/Vista here and not say, an embedded operating system, the fact that the OS uses virtual memory implies the presence of a pagefile as well. You can run without one, but that's just stupid. And what is the pagefile used for? It's used to help implement virtual memory addressing. So there you go. Maybe I should have put "implies" instead of "==". But then I'd get nitpicked anyways, because WM2003 doesn't have a pagefile. Doh.
