if it really is 150nit, then it is not the same panel as the Acer SXGA+ notebooks. Acer says those are 200nit panels
Try putting the powersetting mode to Portable/Laptop. This will throttle the computer when plugged in and when on battery (its the setting i use, and there really isn't any performance degradation). This keeps the bottom a lot cooler.
